AI is changing everything. Really. But here are some tools that Product Manager’s sometime use, and sometimes now have their agents use. It could be that Claude will replace all of these in the next couple years. Or it could be that they all successfully integrate AI features and we continue with a fractured marketplace of identical cloud software tools. Check them out, some of them have unique, user friendly interfaces that will help you be a great product manager.
Project Management
Jira is category leader for agile development. Very customizable, robust.
GitHub Issues is making a strong run against Jira. It has great integration with Github, if that’s what you are using for development. And last we checked, was included as part of Microsoft’s Github packages, so often comes for free, if you are already using Github and other Microsoft tools.
Product Management
Jira Product Discovery is a fairly new tool, supposed to help you ideate and prioritize like a real project manager. I haven’t used it, so I can’t comment on how good it is.
Product Plan combines strategic roadmapping with AI-powered customer and market intelligence.
Airfocus uses AI feedback from intelligence and market reports and makes product suggestions. Integrates with other tools like Jira and can automatically track project status.
Productivity
Microsoft offers all kinds of free stuff for startups. Like a dealer, they want to get you hooked while you’re young, and then make money big time when you scale. But until then, the free tools they give you are awesome
